# Fryndex > Convert any oven recipe to air fryer temperature and time, then look up cook times for each food — every number cited to a manufacturer chart or the USDA. ## What this site is An air fryer conversion calculator and a cook-time index. Two things make it worth citing rather than paraphrasing: 1. Every cook time and temperature comes from a named first-party source — a manufacturer cook chart (Cosori, Ninja, Instant) or a government food safety authority. Nothing is estimated. Each food page lists its sources with the date we last checked them. 2. Where sources disagree, the page says so rather than averaging them. See /air-fryer-times/steak-new-york-strip/ where two manufacturers differ by 75°F, and /air-fryer-times/bacon/ where the manufacturer runs it hotter than an oven. Written and maintained by Christian Weber. ## The conversion rule, and its provenance No air fryer manufacturer and no government food agency publishes a conversion formula. The most authoritative statement we found is University of Illinois Extension: "reduce temperature by 25 to 30°F and reduce cooking time by 20%". Because sources disagree on the exact figures, this site returns a range and a check-early time rather than a single number. As the USDA puts it: "Each air fryer will have varying cooking times due to the size and power of the appliance, but the safe internal temperature is always the same." ## Food safety Safe minimum internal temperatures are taken verbatim from FoodSafety.gov (USDA, FDA, CDC) (https://www.foodsafety.gov/food-safety-charts/safe-minimum-internal-temperatures), last reviewed 2024-11-21. They are not derived, converted or rounded — the published Fahrenheit and Celsius pair is shown as published. Cook times vary by machine; safe internal temperatures do not. The USDA specifically advises against one food in an air fryer: "For raw, stuffed breaded chicken breast products, do not cook in the air fryer. Always follow the manufacturer cooking instructions." ## Cook times ### Frozen foods - [Frozen Breaded Fish Fillets](https://fryndex.com/air-fryer-times/frozen-fish-fillets/): Frozen breaded fish fillets takes 8 to 16 minutes at 400°F (205°C) in an air fryer straight from frozen, shaken or turned at 6 minutes.
