Privacy policy
Fryndex has no accounts, no login and no newsletter. We do not ask for your name or email to use anything on the site. Your °F or °C preference and air fryer size live in your own browser rather than on our servers. We do use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read, which sets cookies in your browser — the section below says exactly what.
Who we are
Fryndex (fryndex.com) is published by Christian Weber. For any privacy question, including a request to exercise your rights below, use the contact page.
What we store in your browser
The site uses localStorage, not cookies, for a few small preferences:

These never leave your device, are not sent to us, and contain nothing that identifies you. Clearing your browser data removes them. If your browser blocks storage, the site still works — it simply forgets your choice between visits.
On a first visit we read your browser's language setting to guess whether to show °F or °C. That guess is made in your browser and is not recorded anywhere.
What we do not do
- No accounts, logins or passwords.
- No newsletter, and no email collection.
- No advertising cookies at the time of writing. Google Analytics does set cookies — see below.
- No attempt to identify you personally. We look at totals, not individuals, and there is no user ID, no cross-device linking and no ad personalisation signal enabled on the property.
- We do not sell or share personal data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It is the only third-party analytics on the site.
It sets first-party cookies in your browser — typically _ga and _ga_<id> — which hold a randomly generated identifier used to
recognise a returning browser so one person reading three pages is not counted
as three people. They expire after two years unless you clear them sooner. Your
IP address is used to derive an approximate location and is not stored by Google
Analytics in its raw form.
We use this only in aggregate. We do not know who you are, we have not enabled ad personalisation or Google Signals on the property, and nothing here is linked to the preferences stored in your browser.
Analytics is off until you turn it on. On your first visit a banner asks,
and nothing is stored for analytics unless you agree — we use Google Consent
Mode v2, so before you choose, Google receives only an anonymous, cookieless
signal. Your answer is remembered in your browser's own storage under fryndex-consent, not in a cookie. To change it later, use
at the bottom of any page — withdrawing is exactly as easy as agreeing.
You can also opt out by using your browser's cookie controls, by blocking the
domain googletagmanager.com with any content blocker, or by
installing Google's
Analytics opt-out add-on
. The site works exactly the same either way. How Google processes this data is

Server logs
The site runs on a virtual private server behind Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, the server and Cloudflare process requests and may retain standard technical information such as IP address, user agent and requested URL for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics. We do not build profiles from them.
Advertising
This site carries display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, and review how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Third-party vendors' use of cookies is governed by their own policies.
The contact form
If you send a message, the form passes your message and any address you supply to a third-party form provider, which relays it to us by email. It is used only to reply to you. Do not send sensitive personal information through it. The provider and its privacy policy are named on the contact page.
Links to other sites
We link to manufacturer and government sources so our figures can be verified. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. Since we collect no personal data at all, there is nothing to delete — but if you have a concern, please get in touch.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and similar laws you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data held about you.
In practice we hold no personal data about visitors, so there is generally nothing to access or erase. If you have emailed us, that correspondence is held in our mailbox and you may ask us to delete it at any time. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date below will change with it. Material changes — in particular the introduction of advertising — will be made here before they take effect on the site.
